句子结构非常简单。
while it（从句的形式主语） is （从句谓语）easy（从句表语） to ignore in our contact with them the effect of our acts upon their disposition（从句真正的主语）（while引导的让步状语从句）, it（形式主语） is（谓语） not so easy（表语） as in dealing with adults (主句).
前半句的翻译也比较容易，就是“虽然在与年轻人交往的时候，我们很容易忽视我们的行为对他们性格的影响”。
但是接下来这后半句，就有点学问了。
很多同学稍不注意就会翻译成“在与成年人打交道时却并不容易”。
这是字面意思，但是这样翻译的话，就会发现没有什么用。就像“听君一席话如听一席话”一样。与成年人打交道的时候“什么”不容易，要翻译出来。毕竟通过句子成分的分析，可以看到主句居然没有出现主语和比较的对象，那么说明主句的主语肯定是省略了的。
这个时候有的同学就又会翻译成“与成年人打交道的时候就不会像与年轻人那么容易忽略自己的行为对他们造成的影响”。
👆很多人都是这么翻译的。
但是，这么翻译是错了的。意思翻译反了。
实际上应该这么做。
把真正的主语成分和比较的成分补充完整it is not so easy（ to ignore the effect of our acts upon their disposition- 真正主语）（in contact with the young-比较对象补充完整） as in dealing with adults. 如果还没有看明白的话，可以接着进一步还原就是“to ignore the effect of our acts upon their disposition in contact with the young is not so easy as ignore the effect of our acts upon their disposition in dealing with adults”,就是“在与年轻人打交道时忽视自己行为对他人的影响这样的行为没有与成年人打交道时容易”，也就是跟成年人打交道更容易忽视自己的行为对其性格产生的影响。
之前的错误翻译是因为在还原的时候，没有看到as。因为如果还原成to ignore the effect of our acts upon their disposition in dealing with adults is not so easy.这就是与成年人打交道更不容易忽视自己的行为对其性格产生的影响。但这就有一个问题。还原了之后as没地方放了，因为dealing with adults 是出现在as之后的，即便还原之后，也一样如此（作为对比，前半句是没有as的，大家可以自行体会一下）。

这类省略现象大家一定要注意，不能马上判断出来的，一定要把成分补充完整。
